I trained as a traditional joiner and in 2007 completed my apprenticeship within the family business. Working on a variety of projects from building bookcases to houses alongside my dad. During this time I realised my passion for creative woodwork and developed my eye for detail.
In 2013 my wife and I were lured by the Rocky Mountains and decided to move to Canada, where I worked for small company creating bespoke staircases and woodwork for million dollar homes.
Since returning to Scotland and welcoming our little boy into the world, in spring 2016, I resumed working with my dad (who has since retired though won’t admit it!) I continue to do the joinery work we always have however it is my hope to focus more on finishing joinery and creative woodwork.
I love days spent in my small workshop in Perthshire, particularly as our home is a mere 15 minute cycle away which is the perfect start and finish to every work day (providing it’s not torrential rain!)
Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life
